  Mrs. Laura Keepax ‘85 P ‘18 ‘18 ‘22, Upper School Biomedical Science Faculty member, was named the Nancy Conrad Innovative Teacher
of the Year. Over the past 10 years, she has coached several of Gulliver’s Conrad Challenge teams in addition to being a subject matter expert for teams across the globe.
Victoria “Tori” Hagenlocker ‘22 was awarded the Technovation Technology Award in the Senior Division for her app, RecycleRight, competing against more than 5,400 competitors from over 60 countries. She had an opportunity to pitch RecycleRight in front of industry professionals, and represent the United States at the Technovation World Summit.
Joao Carvalho ‘21 and Jordan Schmidt ‘21 were selected as National Merit Scholarship winners. With this prestigious honor, both students received a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship.
A team out of the Upper School’s Engineering Signature Academic Program joined hundreds
of students across the globe to put their STEM knowledge to work to benefit humanity by competing in the Conrad Challenge. Alejandro Antorcha ‘22, Porter Bowen ‘21, Daniel Hagenlocker ‘24, Victoria Hagenlocker ‘22, and Sabrina Sharma ‘21 were crowned Pete Conrad Scholars in the Energy and Environment (Dell Technologies Sustainable Packaging) category for the team’s creative solution, Inside the Box. The innovation utilizes overproduced grains, corn, and wheat to create biodegradable packaging, optimized for electronics, that provides all of the functionality of standard corrugated cardboard shipping boxes and styrofoam inserts.
The Model UN team attended virtual conferences hosted by McGill University and Columbia University. Gulliver Prep received the Overall Outstanding Delegation Award for Columbia University’s Model UN Conference, and overall, students earned four Best Delegate awards, three Outstanding Delegate honors, three Honorable Mention nods, a pair of Verbal Commendation honors, and a Rising Star nod.
 In honor of Women’s History Month, Natalia Lopez ‘22 and Katie Lewis ‘22 created “Strides,” a digital magazine filled with student entries highlighting the progress women have made throughout history, in addition to commemorating female
leaders in the Gulliver community.
