Mel Mendiola is the Administrator/Chief Executive
Officer for the Guam Economic Development
Authority. Her career has primarily been in areas of
finance and in the last few years, in not-for-profit,
with the University of Guam Endowment Foundation
as their Executive Director and Farm to Table Guam,
as a co-founder and former Project Director.

She has written several academic journal publications
in areas of financial planning. She occasionally teaches
Economics at the University of Guam. In 2013, she
received the Financial Planning Association’s Diversity
Scholar award for her work in Financial Planning
among diverse populations. In 2016, she was named
the Reina A. Leddy Guam Young Professional of the
Year by the Guam Chamber of Commerce, and in 2018,
she received the Minority Business Champion Award

Guam Economic Development Authority Mel has her Bachelor’s in Economics from New York
University, her PMBA from the University of Guam,
and a Master’s of Science in Financial Planning from
Kansas State University.
