AIT: A KALEIDO-
SCOPE OF
CULTURES
IT is applauded for its multi-cultural
environment and it is such a place where
Awe exchange smiles and greetings with
every passer-by; sometime, even struggling to
recall the other person’s name or how we became
acquaintances. A small institute with a handful of
student, all stationed inside campus, many of these
are living here for more than a couple of years. AIT
is pretty much like a small town, where everyone
knows everyone else. This closely knit society,
sets us into not only a mould of “habitual smiley
face”, but also provides us the experience to live
in socially integrated environment. This socially
inclusive and bonded environment is vanishing in
the world, where strangers are dreaded and known
relationships are hard to keep up.
Discourse on “Diversity in AIT”, often overlooks the
fact that diversity is unique in our institute because
of its “closely-linked-social-structure”. Diverse
cultures are nourished here, because we have
ample chances to meet each other, we knows our
neighbours (even if it’s because he/she is a noisy
person), we not only work or play together but
also we fight for each other and with each other.
Cherish these moments of noisy life, political
friendships and annoying neighbourhood. Smile
while you can ;)
