ur west Michigan signature event, Be the Rock, THANK YOU TO OUR
now in its 5th year, was held at the LMCU Ballpark
Oin September. This baseball themed extravaganza, GENEROUS SPONSORS!
presented by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Pinnacle
Construction Group and Applied Imaging, featured an Presenting:
upscale ballpark menu, live music, cocktails and craft
beers from New Holland Brewery, and a great line up of
inspirational speakers, mission moments and a live auction.

Our MC, Maranda of WOTV4, introduced event chairs
Dave Schaffer from Interphase Interiors and Renee
Williams from Huntington Bank. Pinch hitting for the
team were Vice Chairs Dave Gauthier from UFP and Floyd
Wilson Jr. from Pinnacle Construction. Capped off by
a live auction and our exciting “fund the mission” pledge
drive, the event also featured mission speaker and Samaritas
employee, Katie McCuen and a rousing Samaritas board
member-led rendition of “Take me out to the Ballgame.” Champion:
CEO Sam Beals and Board Chair David Morin presented
The 2021 Volunteer Award to Applied Imaging, honoring
the company’s long term and significant support and
volunteerism across Samaritas. Our 2021 Ambassador Award
went to Mick and Lucy McGraw who generously open their
Montana ranch to groups of foster youth every year and
providing a life-changing experience (See Page 4 for more on
the McGraw’s generosity).
Galaxy:
The event raised nearly $200,000, truly a home run for
