Values In Action
We live out our values every day at Samaritas - This month, we highlight People First
PEOPLE FIRST GUIDING PRINCIPLES
WE WORK AS ONE TEAM
Our staff came together during the COVID-19 crisis and found ways to uplift and
encourage each other with banners, posters, special meals and treats and lots
of positive communication.
WE SUPPORT AND When the pandemic caused our offices to be closed for safety, our staff
didn’t skip a beat, finding new ways to deliver services and support with
TRUST EACH OTHER online orientations, telehealth and finalizing adoptions through Zoom.
WE FIND INDIVIDUALIZED SOLUTIONS
Our senior residents miss their family and friends. We found many ways to keep them
connected, engaged, involved, entertained and active from a distance.
WE CELEBRATE DIFFERENCES
AND RESPECT OTHERS’ OPINIONS
Being new to the country, and with English being a second language, our refugees have to
navigate not only a whole new physical world, but an online one as well. Our refugee town
hall addressed some of those challenges and offered our audience ways to assist and
support. Our refugee youth found strength and solace in creating beautiful artwork, which
we then featured on Samaritas.org/Youth-Art-Show through a virtual art show which
helped raise needed funds for Refugee Foster Care services.
ROCKS WANTED: If you’re interested in working for a non-profit organization that provides quality service
