Kang Gyubin G5-1
Hello! I’m Gyubin and I am interested in writing stories about the
school, events and other cool and interesting things! I joined the
newspaper club because I love to write stories!
Rah Seha G5-1
Hello, my name is Seha and I am interested in writing fantasy
stories! The reason I joined the newspaper club is because I thought
it would be fun and wanted to make competitions, polls, riddles etc.
Roh Hyeyoon G5-1
My name is Marcia. I am interested in writing movie reviews. I
joined the Newspaper Club because since I was four, my dream has
been to be a reporter.
Mask design competition
We held a competition before the spring break asking students to
design a mask of their own. We are very happy to say we got more
than 60 entries this year! We chose 3 winners from grade 1 to 3 and
3 winners from grade 4 to 6. It was very hard to choose because all
the designs were amazing and very detailed. Take a look below and
check out our student newspaper to see the winners!!

Summer To-Do List - Kang Gyubin
are some fun and cool activities and places to go in the summer break!
First of all, you can go to the Art Science Museum in Marina Bay Sands or go to
Adventure Cove water park in Sentosa! In the Art science museum, you can go down
colorful glowing slides and make your artwork project come to life! You can also play with
vibrant and glowing balls the size of yourself! In Adventure cove water park you can go
to the lazy river, children’s play centre and the rocket racer slide! I recommend going in
the school break and not in the local school break because lines can get very long and you
don’t want to disturb the fun.
You can also visit the Sea Aquarium in Sentosa. You can see all kinds of fish and do fun
activities like coloring and feeding the fish and turtles. If you’re hungry, try going to the
Ice Cream Museum where you can play in an indoor playground and eat lots of ice cream!
You can also do a marble race with your friends - it’s really fun!
If you’re looking for something free, try going to one of Singapore’s many parks and
having a picnic with your friends or family! Or, if you have energy, you could try going
to Bounce which is a really fun trampoline park! If you’re a creative person who likes to
paint, head over to Ion afterwards for some art jamming!
I hope you have lots of fun with all these places to go to, as well as their unique
activities!
SKIS Open Day for Parents - Rah Seha
At the start of June, SKIS held a Special Opening for parents.
Our parents logged into Zoom to see our class activities and lessons. We had this event
not only to show our parents how we learn at school but also to show the mood and
atmosphere of our class! I was very nervous at first, but after the open day was over, I
felt very proud of myself and everybody did so well!
All the classes showed different topics. For G2-6 English classes, we showed our IPC
dasn not comma lessons. The Korean classes could be any subject such as society,
science, art and more! Our Chinese and Literacy classes also did open class! Many
parents joined in and everyone was happy to see them during the class.
We hope everyone enjoyed the open day!
Movie Review- Roh Hyeyoon
I watched Turning Red on Disney+ and I recommend this movie to students who like
comics and fantasy. This movie is about a girl called Mei who turns into a red panda
when she reaches adolescence and when she feels a strong emotion.
My favorite part of this movie was when Mei suddenly turned into a red panda
because she was teased. Mei and her friend felt embarrassed but they understood their
feelings and didn’t tell anyone Mei’s secret. When Mei’s friend understood her, I felt
very touched.
I rated this movie stars because it was very fun but it also lasted a very long time. I
would recommend this movie 4 out of 5 star; because I think the soundtrack is also so
good and my friend in Korea suggested it to me.
