It was chocolates all around for Brian Eastgate,
Dennis Greenwell, Sandra Odams & Ann Dahin-
ten, who swept ahead in the Monday evening
bowls drive with a shots plus of fourteen, including
a seventeen shot winning sequence over the last
six ends.
As usual, the first event to be completed was
the after dinner 2-bowl singles. After the round
robin stage, the closest quarter final game was the
7 - 6 win by John Downs over Anthea Bell with a
lst end Single.
In the other Quarter, Eric Hasker beat Geoff
Cleave 8 - 3 and Ricard Williams scored a 10 - 3
Singles Finalist Gordon Lucas
with Champion Richard Williams win over Ann Dahinten. Completing the semi-final
line-up Gordon Lucas beat Ted Fisher 8 - 4. Gor-
don then went on to score an 8 - 3 victory over Eric Hasker, whilst Richard Williams went from
2 - 5 down to beat John Downs 8 - 5.
The final between Gordon Luca and Richard
Williams was hotly contested with some great bowling
but by the fififth end Richard led 5 - 1 but back came
Gordon Lucas with four singles in five ends but he ran
out of ends and lost 5 - 6 to champion Richard Williams.
In the Pairs the easiest Quarter final win was
achieved by Mike Davis & Cynthia Riley who had a
walk-over against Brian & Glenys Robinson. In the
other Quarters Rene Morgan & Gerry Williams were in
sparkling form with a 14 - 6 win over Eric & Doreen
Hasker. Sandra Odams & Anthea Bell also had a great
win 13 - 6 overGordon & Dot Lucas.
The last match saw Ted Fisher & Brian Eastgate
bscore an 11 - 6 victory over Richard Williams & Barrie
Goodchild.

Ted & Brian then scored an 8 - 6 Semi-final
win overSandra Odams & Brian Fisher. The
other semi had suprises over the closing
two ends. Rene Morgan & Gerry Williams
scored a three to lead 1- 9 going into the
last end but Mike Davis & Cynthia Riley
then scored a two to take the match 11 - 10.
In the final Mike & Cynthia took a 5 -
2 lead but going into the last end they were
9 - 5 down to Ted Fisher & Brian Eastgate.
Mike & Cynthia needed a four to draw but
Seated Triples winners Geoff Cleave, could only score two, leaving Ted Fisher &
Pam Avery & John Horsham with finalists Brian Eastgate as Champions.
