Re-setting Passwords
This screen is where you can reset an individual’s password.
1. Go to the “Password” box, erase the dots, and type in the employee’s ID number.
• Note: The employee’s ID number is grayed out in the “User ID” field.
2. Retype the employee’s ID number in the “Confirm Password” field. You will only see dots, not
what you type.
3. Click on “Save” at the bottom of the screen.
4. Inform the employee that their password is the same as their employee number.
• Note: You can use the employee’s ID number only twice to reset their password. You may, in some cases, have to use a different word or sequence of numbers to reset a password.
Be sure to tell the employee what password you assigned.
Look to the left of the screen. At the top of the file tree you will see the name of the person that this general information record belongs to. By clicking on the blue hyperlinked text below the individual’s name, you will be able to view this person’s “Assignments,” their “My Learning” and “My Transcript” screens.
If you click on “Assignment Completion Report,” you will be taken to this report and will find yourself under the “Reports” tab. See “Reports” tab for more information.
By clicking on “License Information” you will be able to tell if a staff member entered their discipline and license information. This may be very important to you if you are responsible for staff who are required to maintain a professional license as a condition for employment (i.e. RN, LPN, etc). If this screen is complete, you will be able to run reports to check if licenses are expired.
Encourage staff to enter their license information. The benefit to them is that if they complete a continuing education (CE) course in McLaren University that awards CE credits for their discipline, they will automatically receive the credit. They will also be able to print their continuing education certificate to present as proof of meeting requirements to maintain their credential.
Courses Tab
You can use this tab to view courses that are available at your subsidiary. You can also do this as a student under the Catalog tab.
Education Tab
These are view only screens. Under “Class Management” there is an option entitled “View Calendar.” By selecting this option you can view courses that are offered on a particular day, week or month.
Reports Tab
There are a multitude of reports available. When you click on the “Reports” tab you will see that there are People Reports, Course Reports, Education Reports, and Tools Reports. Under Education Reports, the “Assignment Completion – Drill Through” will be very useful to monitor staff completion of an assignment(s). This is a schedulable report. This means that you can elect to have this report automatically emailed to you on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis.
