“It’s gonna be ok, honey” She said, as she started hugging me, action that made me cry even more. I’m not sure if I was crying because of the hug or because she was literally bruising even more my broken arm. “Mom! The arm!” “I’m sorry, Leo!” she said She stood up and went to her desk. She took some files, from which I could identify my x-ray. “It’s broken, but don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it seems. I’ll need to put on a cast and I think it’s better for you to stay the night here, honey. But, I must ask you: Are you really okay?” “I’m not sure mom.” She stood up, took some pills from her drawer and a towel from a cabinet. “I think we’ll have to discuss what you’ve done tomorrow, but for the moment I will give you some pills that will most certainly cease your pain and help you sleep.” “Okay, mom” She took a glass of water that was sitting in her desk and gave me the pills with it. I took them, as she took the towels and dried my hair. I sat quietly as she dried my hair. We left the room and walked through a cold hall which eventually lead to my room, we didn’t speak. When we got to the room she left my bag and helped me get into the bed. I was really tired. She sat in a chair next to me and something changed the whole course of my life from that moment on: “I just want you to remember that you shouldn’t be an empty shell, because being complete ensures that you are truly who you are, and not just a reflection of others. This is being human”.
