I took my bag, put my walkman in it, and left for the subway in hopes of finding something to do that. As I walked by the stores I could only think about Mark and how I could not cope with him, about how he was so basic in life and didn’t actually care. Anyway, as I entered the B line, I remembered my friend Megan, who would most likely not be in class either, so I waited until I arrived at the next station and went to the phone booth. I opened my contact booklet, found her number and called her house. Her father answered, as always, and called her. “Hey Megan, how are you?” I said “Leo! Omigod, how are you? I’m feeling great” she replied I thought about her soft and tender voice, about how amazing she was. “Wow, I’m good too. I was wondering if you wanted to go out to lunch or something?” “I would love it... see you in Central Park about 11:00?” “Great idea, see ya.” Although it was a fairly short conversation, I could only think about how I really liked that girl. I continued in the B line until I reached Central Park. I arrived 15 minutes early, so I sat in a bench and waited until it was 11:00. She did not arrive. I waited 45 more minutes, and she still did not arrive, so I waited 15 more. As I was getting really angry, I was about to go to another phone booth, when I saw her arrive in a cab. She was just so perfect.
