PORSCHE CLUB – CENTRAL PHOTO RALLY - 2nd AUGUST 2020

The year 2020 has been a year that most would like to forget with the COVID-19 virus that
attacked the world.
We all went into lockdown on 27th March 2020. This meant postponing all our
forthcoming events. After a few months, we went from lockdown level 5 to level 3
where we were permitted to participate in certain events under
strict COVID-19 rules.
Our first club event since the beginning of lockdown was the
Photo Rally - members could participate in their own vehicles
with little or no contact between
them. Thus, complying with all the COVID-19 rules.
The rally took place along Solomon Mahlangu Drive in Pretoria. 26 Club members and their “spotters” entered this event. The 31 photo clues were sent out via e-mail, which members needed to print out and bring with them on the day. A few of our members have really good eyesight, as they printed the photos in thumbnail format...
Our starting point was at a small shopping centre in Centurion. A location pin was sent out simultaneously to all the com- petitors early that morning. Within a few minutes, the first contender, Johan Greeff arrived (makes me wonder if the start point had been leaked?). The parking lot was soon filled with gleaming Porsches, the members had clearly used their time in lockdown to clean and polish their cars.
