Under the Government’s COVID-19 rules, everyone had to wear a mask, and I must say, that this was
respected. Hand sanitiser was used in abundance when the clue sheets were handed out to the
participants.
The end point of the rally was sent to each contender, via WhatsApp, as they
approached the start line.
Each car then headed out to tackle the rally.
The first clue was the number plate of my Porsche 930 that was parked strategically at
the start of the rally. I was amazed at how few missed this clue.
At the end of the rally, each contender
needed to photograph their answer sheet and WhatsApp it back to me for marking
purposes. I was very strict with my marking. Answers had to be case sensitive, have the
correct punctuation and also had to be in the correct language as per the answer to the clue.
Another amazing fact was how many of the members, including our President Cilliers Van Niekerk, did not add their name to the answer sheet!!!
I have to applaud Jan and Mariska Clemons for identifying each and every clue, and although they lost points for not completing the answers in the correct format as was required in the rules (stated above) - they still managed to score the most points and were declared winners of the event. Beverly Ludick finished in second place and Michael Abbot in third.
All the entry fees for the event were used to purchase Takealot vouchers, these were then emailed to our winners.
Trust all participants enjoyed the outing.
