Legendary is a term that is often overused but not in Brian’s case.
Brian’s life bears testimony to what Marcus Aurelius said: it is not death that we should fear. But instead, fear never having lived. Brian has truly lived. He has left behind a long list of achievements, from a young age, he started building and designing his own cars and later focusing on Porsche technical engineering.
Brian not only knew the inside of the car but also how to drive them. He was super-fast on the track and loved telling the story of how he once beat Toby on the track. It was this passion for fast cars and particularly Porsches that eventually culminated in an achievement that many of
us can only dream about — managing a Le Mans racing team. He was
From what has been said before this, we have heard what an amazing man Brian was.
I am now going to tell you about my relationship with this remarkable man.
It all started in 2001. I had just bought my first Porsche 930. This car was not boosting properly, and a fellow Porsche Club Member took me to Brian’s house one Saturday morning.
I explained my problem with the car, he replied, no problem. Promptly hoisted the car up and with an angle grinder in hand started cutting away at the housing of the Turbo. You could understand my shock and dismay, one hour later, after the diaphragm had been replaced, I had an awesomely performing Porsche 930.
a Porsche man through and through and lived his life to the fullest. He always remained a humble man, who had time to talk, assist, give advice and show you how it is supposed to be done.
We count it as a blessing to have known Brian, and we will greatly miss him. His legacy will not be forgotten by our Porsche Club.
Brian will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in Peace,
From Cilliers van Niekerk,

This man knew a thing or two about Porsches!
That was the start of an amazing relationship
between Brian and me. Brian was like a father, a brother, a best friend, and a mentor to me. What I learnt from that man was beyond amazing. The tutoring never stopped. Brian was never too busy to help me.
I, like so many others, including Jean, his wife, June his sister, Carol and Linda his nieces and Martin, his cousin are going to miss this remarkable man terribly.
Rest in Peace Brian... Your friend, Brian Viljoen.
