               Black History CLE Seminar
               The LSBA's Diversity Committee’s Pipeline to Diversity and Outreach Subcommittee hosts a
               CLE seminar in celebration of Black History Month. The seminar is co-hosted by Adams and
               Reese LLP.

               The CLE seminar was held on February 21, 2019 at Adams and Reese LLP in Baton Rouge, LA.
               The  session  entitled  “The  Disproportionate  Impact  of  Non-Unanimous  Juries”  featured  the
               following speakers:
               Kellen J. Matthews, Adams and Reese LLP, Moderator
               Senator Daniel A. Claitor, Louisiana State Senate, District 16, Baton Rouge, LA
               Senator Jean-Paul J. Morrell, Louisiana State Senate, District 3, New Orleans, LA

               Diversity Outreach to the Law Schools, Colleges and Children

               Suit Up for the Future High School Summer Legal Institute and Internship Program

               The 8  Annual Suit Up for the Future High School Legal Institute and Internship Program was
               held on June 10 – 28, 2019.

               A partial grant from the Louisiana Bar Foundation assisted in covering stipends of up to $250 per
               student for the 18 students that successfully completed the program and for interns that assisted
               with the program.

               Article  featuring  Suit  Up  alumnus  Ashley  Berry  a  participant  of  the  Indiana  University  (IU)
               Robert H. McKinney School of Law  Summer Law and Leadership Academy.

               Support to Minority Involvement Section

               The Diversity Committee assists and supports the Minority Involvement Section in its activities.
               The chair of the Minority Involvement is a member of the Diversity Committee’s Specialty Bars
               subcommittee.
