Practice Assistance and Improvement Committee
This committee’s mission is to serve the Bar and the public in furtherance of the Association’s
goals of prevention and correction of lawyer misconduct, and assistance to victims of lawyer
misconduct by providing effective alternatives to disciplinary action for minor offenses, by
sponsoring education and practice assistance programs, and by administering programs to resolve
minor complaints and lawyer/client disputes.

Committee on the Profession
The mission of the Committee is to support and encourage lawyers to exercise the highest
standards of integrity, ethics and professionalism in their conduct; to examine systemic issues in
the legal system arising out of the lawyer’s relationship and duties to his/her clients, other lawyers,
the courts, the judicial system and the public good; to provide the impetus and means to positively
impact those relationships and duties; to improve access to the legal system; and to improve the
quality of life and work/life balance for lawyers.

Public Information Committee
The mission of the Public Information Committee shall be to promote a better understanding of
the law, legal profession, individual lawyers and the Louisiana State Bar Association through a
variety of public outreach efforts.

Rules of Professional Conduct Committee
The mission of the Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct shall be to promote
professional ethics in the practice of law within the State of Louisiana and shall include the
following specific tasks:
(1)To monitor and evaluate developments in legal ethics and, when appropriate, recommend
changes to the Louisiana Rules of Professional Conduct;
(2)To act as a liaison to the Louisiana Supreme Court on matters concerning the Rules of
Professional Conduct;
(3)To respond to inquiries from the Louisiana Supreme Court on matters of legal ethics, as may
be received from time to time;
(4)To review issues of legal ethics arising from the practice of law within this State, including
proposals to add, delete, or modify existing ethical rules, and make recommendations regarding
