Allan Montpellier, PE, Principal, PAE Consulting Engineers

Allan Montpellier is a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of experience and a passion for high-
performance buildings. Allan enjoys challenging building types such as museums, performance theaters, data
centers, and laboratories. Four of his projects have been awarded the AIA COTE award, with many others
achieving top LEED ratings and ASHRAE awards. He focuses on developing integrated systems through
innovative alternatives that lean heavily on sustainable-design strategies. Allan measures success based on a
building’s actual performance and, most importantly, the relationships he forms along the way.

Joel Johnson, PE, Chief Engineer, TJP, Inc.

Joel Johnson is a founding principal of TJP, Inc. As Chief Engineer, Joel provides technical support and over-
sight for all projects at TJP. He also is the project engineer/project manager for several projects. For over
30 years, Joel has worked from master planning through design and start-up of projects of all scales. These
include structural design of reservoirs, planning and design of life support systems for large marine parks,
world-class aquariums, marine mammal facilities, and aquatic zoo facilities. Joel started his journey in profes-
sional engineering in 1982. He looks at his job as rooting out whatever technical details are necessary to
accomplish the best end results.

Phoebe Schenker, AIA, LEED

Phoebe is an architect who embraces the iterative process of design, bringing together diverse interests
in service of a common goal. Phoebe is well-versed in the technical complexities that can make or break a
project and she is passionate about sustainability and believes in using the Earth’s resources responsibly and
reusing them whenever possible. Phoebe was the project manager for the New Pacific Seas Aquarium at the

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
