Children learn to sign for disability employment awareness

The children at the School Age Annex got a chance to try their hands at American Sign
Language Oct. 20.

interpreter, taught them a few of the basics like the alphabet and simple words like mom,
dad, boy and girl.
The demonstration was done in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness
Month, which has been observed every October for the last 70 years. This year’s theme
is “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am.”
