MEMORANDUM FOR 56 FW

SUBJECT: 2020 Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) Campaign
1. It is time to kick off the 2020 AFAF Campaign! Beginning on 2 March 2020 and running
through 10 April 2020, we are striving to meet an overall installation goal of $60,520, in an effort
to do our part in supporting this worthwhile fund that supports so many Airmen.
2. The four charities supported by the AFAF Campaign are the Air Force Aid Society, the
General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, the Air Force Enlisted Village, and the Air Force
Villages Charitable Foundation. These are not charities you will see in your CFC lineup. These
are examples of the Air Force community taking care of their own—For Airmen, By Airmen!
3. You will soon be contacted by an assigned representative in your unit to inform you about the
charities, answer any questions you may have, and give you the opportunity to donate if you so
choose. You will also be able to participate in fundraising events by way of helping or donating
—either way, please get involved if you can.
4. While an average Air Force base participation rate is historically between 23 and 29 percent, I
believe Team Thunderbolt is far above average! Just a few dollars a month from your paycheck
will ensure your fellow Airmen will have the assistance they need when they need it most.
