The West LA Veterans Home is expanding to accom-
modate the many veterans needing long-term care and
residential housing.

As such, CalVet will be hiring more than 300 caregiv-
ers, food service workers, and other staff to take care of
veterans in our home during the next two years.

On Aug. 26, for anyone wishing to work at the West LA
Veterans Home, workshops will be provided on “How to
Get a State Job” and “How to Maneuver the CalHR Web-
site” to look for upcoming exams, jobs, and complete State
Applications.

Also on Aug. 26, exam testing and hiring interviews will

On Aug. 27, exam testing and hiring interviews will
be taking place for Food Service Technicians I & II and
Cook Specialists I & II. In addition we are also recruit-
ing for nurses, LVNs, rehabilitation therapist, occupational
therapist, recreational therapist, pharmacist, social work-
ers, materials and stores workers and other administrative
and clerical positions required to operate a long-term care
facility.

The job fair runs 9 a.m.-4 p.m., both days. The West Los
Angeles Veterans Home is located at 11500 Nimitz Avenue
(Wilshire and the 405) in Los Angeles.
