I’ve seen a
lot of transi-
tions as mili-
tary and civil-
ian personnel
have come and
gone, including Scout reporters.
Threaded throughout the paper over
the past years, articles about “changes”
have been key focal points, from ad-
vances in Soldier training and military
policies to technological advances and
expanded Family programs.
The Scout has been an integral part
of building and maintaining the Fort’s
relationship with the community and
its residents.
Today is another change with the end
of the hard-copy newspaper. anks to
all our loyal readers since 1954.

When I Fort Huachuca
started at The
Scout, I had
very little jour-
nalism experi-
ence. With that
came a lot of
fear and appre-
hension. How-
ever, after I began I quickly became
a part of the Fort Huachuca family.
I loved that job more than any other
I have ever held. Whether it be de-
manding events, comical assignments
(such as creating a commercial for the
MI Library), or tight deadlines, there
was never a dull moment. I’m sad to
see The Scout ending, but I’m proud
to know my name is forever in history

staff.
