This is something Perske always strives
for – to bring some happiness into
people’s lives through her paintings. This
series of oil paintings appeals to the
senses on many levels because the lavish
richness and abundance of texture and

New luxurious works by I feel this new technique and

on show at the Maleny Art “ a chance to break from my usual
Direct Gallery. This exhibition painting sequence
presents a brand new series
of works using palette oils,
quite a change from her
usual mixed media style.
There are still the beautiful bright bold
colours we expect to see from Perske,
but the creativity achieved through the
freedom of the palette knife is very
apparent.
Vanessa says, ‘I feel this new technique
and change in style gives me freedom; a
chance to break from my usual painting
sequence, by using a freer hand with the
palette knife and oil paints. Inspired by my
love of Australian native flowers, there is a
drive to express those feelings and really
paint from the heart.‘
