Constants By LeVin Mai
The alarm strikes and shouts and then, repeats
This hour, this time, this day repeats
Constant walking, then leaving
Constant thinking, then blinking
Constant working, then lurking
all repeats and repeats
And repeats
These sheets to complete
These standards to meet
These grades to keep, repeats
My mind is a clock-it never ends
But, sometimes it reaches a dead-end
I have one brain
That’s one thing to claim
But, as I soon take one trip down memory lane
I hope my pains will be worthwhile to gain
