7) Over Seven Day Accident
" Any accident where an injured person is incapacitated for normal duties for more
than three consecutive days following the day of the accident".
A more detailed definition follows:-
"... the injured person is incapacitated for work for more than seven consecutive days, not
counting the day of the accident but including any days which would not have been working
days. The expression 'more than seven consecutive days' means, in practice, at least eight
days. For example, if a person who normally works Monday to Friday is injured on Friday
and returns to work the following Monday, both Saturdays and Sundays would have to be
included when counting the days of incapacity. The total period of incapacity would be nine
days and the injury must be reported."
The Regulation is not confined to cases of incapacity that keep injured people away from
work. For example, if an injured employee turns up for work immediately following an
accident and is, for more than seven days, put on light duties that are not part of their normal
work, then the injury must be reported.

9) Dangerous Occurrences
As defined in RIDDOR 2013.
10) Fatalities
The death of any person, whether or not they are at work, if it results from an accident arising
out of or in connection with work.
Where an employee dies as a result of suffering an accident at work within one year of the
injury occurring, whether or not the accident had been reported previously.
11) Diseases
As defined in RIDDOR 2013
6.0 ARRANGEMENTS
6.1 Reporting timescales and details
The reporting of all accidents (whether a loss event or a near miss) shall be made to AIRline within the
normal working day/shift of the person involved either via telephone, fax or e-mail or in person to the
PHoSS. Serious accidents and incidents that occur out of office hours shall also be reported immediately
to the On-Call Manager who shall be responsible for ensuring notification to the PHoSS at the earliest
opportunity.
6.2 Accident Reference and Access to Data
Accidents will be assigned a unique reference number by AIRline and the initial details of the accident will
be recorded on an Accident Summary distributed to managers within the company on a regular basis.
The Summary extract is loaded into a database where it is accessible to authorised users for viewing non-
