Yacht Club Series
Keeping up with the latest in medical care is
challenging for many of us outside of the medical field.
A unique opportunity for learning is made possible by
several members of our local yacht club who help to
facilitate a stimulating speaker series featuring top-
notch keynote speakers – physicians and healthcare
leaders from St. John’s Hospitals. Throughout this past
year, more than 250 guests enjoyed connecting with
these experts who presented on innovations in health
care and technology.
Highlights from past presentations:
• The latest in minimally invasive surgery for the repair

The Sisters’ tradition of sharing a cup of tea
with women in the community, was a way to

their work. At St. John’s, we honor this tradition,
which was started at the request of Sister
Catherine McCauley, foundress of the Sisters of
Mercy. As she lay dying, Sister Catherine asked
that they get together for a “good cup of tea”
in their community room to support each other
through their daily travails. Today, gathering
at the home of a generous hostess, women in
our community share a “Comfortable Cup of
Tea” and learn about St. John’s Hospitals’ future
plans and how they can help.
