A major actor dies in a Hollywood nightclub. It is a lethal drug overdose. When the police do a quick examination of the facts, not a single named witness is actually quoted on record.
It is therefore asserted -- and never denied in all these years, even by his own mother -- that he took a speedball in the men's room. Yet nobody ever — ever — actually witnessed him doing that.
Although she did make a brief statement to someone at LAPD before refusing to be interviewed, Samantha Mathis did not tell the truth as she told it to me, even though her admission would have informed the world that River did not do his own death. He was not some kind of "sacrifice" as his mother and Rain and brother Joaquin seem to proclaim (all the while raising money for their foundation.)
The statements of Joaquin and Rain and Flea and Michael Stipe and Johnny Depp might be staggering if given in a deposition under oath.
Rain was 20 and Joaquin was 19, both adults in the world of show business even if illegal and underage in a nightclub. They had known the Red Hot Chili Peppers for years and they knew the drug world of Johnny Depp. They came for that. It may be hard to hear for some, but they were not the victimized innocents their millions of fans say they were. Rain was 20, Joaquin was 19, and Josh Greenbaum, the drummer from River’s band, told me they both had been using heroin themselves; he had done it with them.
THE JOKER is nothing like a joke. It is a sado-graphic revelation of child abuse.
As I have recounted many times, I was told in detail what happened during that critical hour in the Viper Room from Samantha Mathis at the Rose Cafe in Venice, 3 days after River was killed.
The November 12 "Opinion" in the coroner's autopsy was never truly corrected by Mother, leaving the official pubic 'judgement' that River was a long-time junkie. This judgement is untrue, is absent critical facts and leaves too many questions unanswered.

"No one drinks heroin and cocaine. The autopsy report stated that River had no needle marks nor any damage to his nasal septum. River may have abused drugs periodically (movie star in his early 20's). But he didn't that night knowingly. If River had shot up or snorted eight times the lethal dose of cocaine, and three times a lethal dose of heroin, he would have to have been an elephant to snort or inject that much he would have died
