SHOOTING THROUGH THE TANK VIEWFINDER: It's
going full speed towards the camp movie THEATER,
which is now playing a revival of "AS GOOD AS IT
GETS."
General Yeager runs up the front steps and on inside the
theater lobby.
BASE THEATER AUDITORIUM - NIGHT
It's dark. General Yeager heads for the 'EXIT' sign.
HEADING FOR BASE THEATER - NIGHT
Major Furrow stands above the hatch-hole guiding the
tank. Lt. Albany continues shooting into the theater.
MAJ. FURROW:
(shouts down into tank) Hold your fire!
He lifts up walkie-talkie, speaks to headquarters.
MAJ. FURROW:
We've got him in the movie house, sir --.
APPARENTLY NOT.
VOICE: Freeze, soldier!
The Major turns to see General Yeager covering him with
his rifle. But the turret begins to spin as the automatic
starts spitting bullets.
General Yeager fires into the Major's torso, knocking him
off.
He leaps atop the moving turret and fires down into the
cavity until the turret stops and its gun is silent. Now
General Yeager begins to lift Lt. Albany's body out of the
hole.
