As if in answer, POLICE SIRENS are heard.
Frank looks up.
IN FRANK'S REARVIEW MIRROR, next to the dangling
plastic IV bag, we see a HIGHWAY PATROL CAR with its

THE ACCELERATOR: Frank floors it.
IROCKLAND AIR FORCE BASE - BASE COMMANDER'S
OFFICE - NIGHT
General Sorkin is on a walkie-talkie, marching back and
forth in front of the casement window, flags on either side
of him.
MAJ. GEN. SORKIN: (shouts into walkie-talkie) Is it
fixable?
FIRST NUKE OFFICER'S VOICE: Sir -- I do not believe it
can be stopped --.
MAJ. GEN. SORKIN: (into walkie-talkie) don't care what
I
you believe!! FIX IT!
General Sorkin slams the walkie-talkie down on his desk,
turns at the SOUND OF LARGE CALIBER FIRING DOWN
BELOW in the street.
LT. WHARTON:
Sir! General Yeager's got a tank!
WHARTON'S POINT OF VIEW: Down below, a platoon-
sized group of AIR SPECIAL FORCES RANGERS have
taken defensive positions by the stone fountain and are
firing at a Kelly tank ripping across the lawn.
