WELCOME TO LIVING LIGHT
Dear friends, It’s my pleasure to introduce this, our Autumn’s edition of Living Light. This quarter we turn to the story of Joseph, Abraham’s great-grandson whose ‘blockbuster’ life swamps the last 20 chapters of the book of Genesis. Joseph’s ‘rags to riches’ life is barnstorming, making modern day soap storylines tame in comparison. But it is far more than a “Technicolour Dream Coat” tale, in it you will see God faithfully working out his eternal purposes through the seed of Abraham. The Bible makes no attempt to airbrush away the reality of broken family life, nor conceal the consequences of jealousy and hatred. Joseph’s story is not one of modern-day immediacy, but one of staying true in dark days of isolation and loneliness. This is a message we all need to hear, character is not formed in 7-days; it can take 70-years!
Throughout this edition you will see the golden thread of God sovereignly working out his divine plan to bring salvation to the world. Time and time again, you will see a foreshowing of the life of Jesus in the person of Joseph. We pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal Himself to you day by day, causing your faith to grow. Why? because the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joesph is your God too!
