Without Risk, There Is No Opportunity…
My students are used to hearing me say, that “Without risk, there is no opportunity,”
because for me that saying is a cornerstone of any trading business. You must embrace
risk and have confidence in your ability to manage that risk and deliver a consistent
profit.
Just like the confident circus performer, you know how to walk the tight rope and you
are confident in an area where others are not. This is how business owners are
rewarded for taking on risk when others are not willing to or are not physically able to.
Taking on risk is inherently more stressful and requires more skill than not taking on
risk; therefore, risk takers are handsomely rewarded for their efforts and vision when
they do succeed.
The mind-set to develop is that risk, is NOT something to fear.
Risk is something to expertly manage and exploit for your own gain. Because you are
more skilled at managing risk, you will have an edge over the average market
participant. This is something to remember and to implement into your trading
psychology.
