how to tie a bowline – don’t they?
1 Put a bight in the end of the line... 2 ... and put an overhand loop 3 Pass the working end around
in the working end. the standing part...
5 Pass the working end
around the nearest leg of
the bight, and tuck it into
the loop. Tighten the knot.
The bowline should run
free on the standing part.
4 ... and back down through
the loop.
