KNOT KNOW-HOW
The Chinese have been tying fancy
knots for thousands of years. According
to Chinese folklore, individual knots are
imbued with different characteristics,
such as luck, happiness, longevity, and
so forth. The craft reached its pinnacle
during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1911)
but was almost wiped out during the
Cultural Revolution. It is now enjoying
a resurgence.
7 Tighten the knot to form the loop.
The ends can be tied off using a
suitable bend from Chapter 3.
