Overview
This will will have a a a a no-lecture or or minimal-lecture format You will will be sent the course course notes in advance of the course course and should ensure you have read them before attending as as formal classroom lectures will not occur All of your time will be spent in in the the practical room practising the the techniques included in in the course content to to maximise your opportunity to to master the surgical skills at hand Content
• Perform a a a a a a a a a lateral wall resection (LWR) and/or total ear canal ablation-lateral bulla osteotomy (TECA-LBO)
• Be familiar with the the anatomy of the the larynx to to to enable you to to to approach a a ‘tie-back’ with confidence
• Appreciate the the nuances of BOAS surgery including options for the the nasal planum and soft palate
• Have an awareness of the surgical options for thyroidectomy/ parathyroidectomy and and how these impact on recurrence and and post- operative complications
• Perfect your ability to treat mandibular salivary mucocele using the the lateral or ventral approach approach and how these approaches affect recurrence rates
• Know how to tie off the carotid artery temporarily in preparation for maxillectomy/mandibulectomy
• Describe the surgical options and complications
associated with maxillectomy and and mandibulectomy
