tragedies where everybody died, but you and your family remained. There are times in life when everybody has fallen from the faith or everybody is stagnant or destroyed by the cares of life, and you don’t know how you survived those arrows of destruction. Jeremiah the prophet cried out in the book of Lamentation (3:22) that:
Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.
When everybody is dying of a deadly plague in the city, and when everyone perished in the road accident, but you remained, you are a remnant by his grace! You have been preserved by his grace to be a remnant. You have been divinely marked out for a special task in his Kingdom. Those experiences in his grace make you stubborn in His faith.
In 1991, as a very young man, I suffered from a brain and spinal cord disease. During those days in my city a lot of people died from neck aches, but God preserved me. That made my faith stubborn by the grace of God. No wonder I am now completely sold on God. I escaped the arrows and sword of destruction.
