2 Dundee has a history varied and old
Of Jute Mills & whaling & hardships untold
Of marmalade & publishing it can still boast Of the Dandy & Beano & the old Sunday Post
3 Our trip to St Andrews was not history
We ditched all that walking and went on a spree
To Rogerson’s shop for expensive footwear
Now stocks are depleted and the shelves are all bare.
CHORUS
4 We thought Jute was only for making old rope But Sandra has shown it has much wider scope For it is a substance with products diverse Especially if you’re requiring a hearse.
5 Thanks to Maggie and Toni for all that they’ve done To make our Dundee trip a bundle of fun
On jute we are experts; we now know it all Especially the role of the cent-ri-fugal ball.
CHORUS
The second one (Four Famous Ladies) was just me and it was when Norma was away in Greece one winter. Four of us got dressed up. Maggie McLeod was St Margaret, Nicky Sanderson was Mary Queen of Scots, Pat Blain was Flora Macdonald and I was Clarinda.
