                     This method of tying a clove hitch to a ring
                     or similar object allows the knot to be easily
                     loosened and retightened to control the
                     length of the rope leading to the ring. It
                     is commonly used by anyone in just about
                     any circumstance who needs a quick,
                     temporary hitch.
