Shoes and Chews: Glasses and Classes. The Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter (EGO) Partnered with the local radio station WEUP and the members of Target 2 (Women’s Healthcare and Wellness) and decided to have a little fun while collecting glasses in the community. EGO held a eyeglass drive in the parking lot of the WEUP Radio station. As persons donated they received healthy snacks and participated in line-dancing activities. The members of the community were notified via a flyer that was placed on and shared by chapter members via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Chapter members were also notified via the chapter weekly news update and via the one-call now system.
The community and Sorors came out and brought vast amounts of glasses. As the glasses were dropped off, they were counted, wrapped in rubber bands, sorted and packaged. Afterwards, Sorors loaded up their cars and vans for later distribution to the Lions Club
58 pairs of eyeglasses were collected at shipped.
