Why have you now decided to step down?

We all go through different stages in our lives - both professionally and personally.
Sometimes when circumstances shift , we have to reshuffle our lives - one way or
another. My children are going through particular challenges in their lives now, so I need
to devote all of my time and energy to my family. I think that an important aspect of
professionalism is knowing when to take time out and make tough decisions, especially

when one’s work is meaningful and rewarding. So, this is simply time out for the time
being until I’m ready for the next stage in my life as an educator.

We all wish Sylvia the best and thank her for tremendous work on the committee.

Elections

Sylvia’s departure means that the position of webmaster needed filling.

Treasurer: Vicky Saumell?
Events Organiser: Nikki Fortova? has been doing this role for the past three years and
has stood for re-election in this position.
Webmaster: Phil?

We are also holding elections for four positions, in accordance with the IATEFL policy:
Development Officer
Social Media Manager
Newsletter Editor
and Online Events Organiser.
