THE DOWNPOUR
It was a time
When I was seven in Kerala
It was almost half past ten at night.
My room was cozy and pitch dark at my sight
Around five minutes later,
Roared the downpour heavily
The thunder clouds clopped their giant hands
When the rain made the beautiful flowers dance
I sat by my window
For hours on end.
Keeping my pillow
On my lap as a friend.
The drizzles entered through my window,
Forming drops of pearls in my shadow.
I started at the flowers in my garden
Enjoying the showers with wild glee!!
They were in extreme happiness as I could see!
The downpour stopped slowly
And started to drizzle slightly.
The jazzy jasmine scented like a perfume
That you can never assume!
I closed my eyes,
And dreamt as if I am in heaven.
When I opened my eyes,
It was morning.
I was glad to go school that day
To share my experience
Of downpour last night!!
