tolerate any type of harassment, discrimination or intimidation because of race, color,
religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, sexual orientation or disability.
What is Harassment?
Harassment is any unwelcome conduct that creates an uncomfortable, intimidating, hostile,
or offensive work environment, or conduct that has the purpose or effect of unreasonably
interfering with an individual’s work performance. This may include, among other things,
unwelcome advances or requests for sexual favors, inappropriate comments or jokes,
intimidation, bullying or physical contact.
Employees must avoid any actions or conduct that might be interpreted as
harassment or a threat of violence.
DO NOT
✓ Use inappropriate expressions, nicknames, jokes or refer to a colleague using any kind of
descriptive term referring to his/her age, gender, physical appearance, sexual orientation,
race, religion, or any other protected class.
✓ Engage in unwelcoming touching.
✓ Make any kind of sexual advances.
✓ Engage in any type of sexually loaded conversations, or any conversation concerning
religion or politics.
✓ Discuss an employee's physical or mental limitations.
✓ Reveal an employee's medical condition to others, absent some necessity for doing so.
