bachelor celebrations, it’s his duty to keep you
safe. There’s nothing stopping you from going all
out, but the last thing you want is to wake up on
the day of your wedding, handcuffed to a cactus
in the Mexican desert with the image of a spider
eating a rattlesnake tattooed across your sunburnt
face. It’s your best man’s duty to ensure that you
make it out in one piece and that you’re on time
for the big day.
• There’s a bit of admin that your best man should
take care of too. He will need to keep your mar-
riage license safe for the day of your wedding, pick
out gifts for your fiancé from the groomsmen and
also make sure that you look good and are dressed
in time. He’s also going to be making a speech.
If there are some people in the crowd that are
slightly more sensitive than others, maybe ask him
to take it easy on the intensity, because all of your
hard work to have the in-laws accept you may be
tarnished if he tends to take things a step too far.
• The best man is also the designated transporter,
ensuring that you, your bride, and all of the guests
make it to the reception on time. He should also
be in charge of handing out the payments once
all the celebrations are over. The photographer,
caterers, band, it’s his duty to make sure that they
all get their money on time.
• There aren’t many greater honours in life than
being a best man, however the amount of respon-
sibility is quite an undertaking. Make sure your
best man has a thorough checklist of his duties,
but don’t worry, he’s got your back, always has and
always will.
