Poem & Verse Selections (continued)

                          Footprints Forever Touch

One night a man had a dream. Each life leaves a unique legacy
He dreamed he was walking along the beach Embossed upon our hearts
with the LORD. A touch that lingers on and on
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. When time has come to part
For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints
in the sand; one belonging to him, Memories like fingerprints
and the other to the LORD. Leave a special place
                                                                                  Knitted to the people
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, That time cannot erase
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life They live forever in our hearts
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed As time continues on
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest In memories of days gone by
times of his life. We still shared a special bond

This really bothered him and he questioned the That bond cannot be broken
LORD about it. “LORD, you said that once Even death can’t separate
I decided to follow you, you’d walk with me all the A touch that lives forever
way. But I have noticed that during the most Time cannot erase.
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don’t understand why when I needed Sherrie Bradley Grubb
you most you would leave me.” September 8, 2013

The LORD replied,“My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”
