Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi Reflections
Lord, make me an instrument Early in the morning
of your peace. awakening the sun
Where there is hatred, Again as dusk is moving in
let me show love; with night skies soon to come
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith; Familiar place is sought to touch
where there is despair, hope; the soul with solitude
where there is darkness, light; Reflecting on Life’s seasons
and where there is sadness, joy. with Heartfelt gratitude
O’Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much In midst of waters peaceful
seek to be consoled memories fill the mind
as to console; Of laughter, love and family
to be understood forever ties the bind
as to understand;
to be loved, as to love; Though sorrow sometimes visits
For it is in giving blessings come to rest
that we receive; Each time that we remember
it is in pardoning the times that we loved best
that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are Sherrie Bradley Neal
born to eternal life. June 17, 2008
Amen.
