Alumni friends faculty and students I hope you are all staying safe and healthy in in these unprecedented COVID-19 times I I have to to to give many shoutouts to: our staff who turned on on a a a a a dime to to to set up remote operations our faculty who developed new teaching
methods for remote and and in-person courses our our students who have succeeded in in in classes and and and their research despite social distancing and and and Zoom brain and and especially to our alumni who provide enduring support As the festive season of giving approaches I hope you you will find it in in in in in in in your hearts to support the the increasing level of need we are seeing among our students and their families ESM continues to grow with two new faculty Laura Cabrera an expert in in neural neural ethics neural neural devices and electrical engineering will join us on March 1 1 2021 as as an associate professor of of of ESM a a a a a a core faculty member of of of the Center for Neural Engineering a a a a co-funded member of the the Rock Ethics Institute and and as the the Dorothy Foehr Huck Huck and and J Lloyd Huck Huck Early Career Chair in in Neuroethics in in the the Huck Institutes of the the Life Sciences Yang Yang Yang Yang an an an an expert in advanced electron microscopy techniques nuclear materials and mechanical engineering will be appointed as as assistant professor co-funded member of of the Materials Research Institute Institute and affiliate faculty member of the Institute Institute for Computational and Data Sciences on on June 1 1 2021 In November ESM welcomed Lori Rhoades as as our new administrative assistant Congratulations to to Nicole Wolfe who was promoted to to the Office of Engineering Research Administration Laura Cabrera Yang Yang Yang Yang Lori Rhoades You are receiving this newsletter
