                                    Model-T Program/Life Skills

The Model –T Program will allow students to begin experiencing adult life activities in the
community while having the support of the school system. Where appropriate, students will apply
for work and be taught work responsibilities, participate in community-based recreational / leisure
activities, further develop independent living skills, and begin developing social connections in the
environments that the student will be using as a young adult. Model—T will allow the student to
explore options and begin trying out his/ her vision for life as a young adult. It will also allow the
student and his / her family to develop relationships with the adult service providers who may be
supporting the student in the future since these providers may be part of the student’s Model-T
              planning and support team.
