The First 48 Hours at
Camp continued...

When you receive your first letter from your child and, if you have any concerns, please call us. We will be able to give you an update on how he/she is doing. We are very sensitive to each child’s need to fit into camp life smoothly and to get off to a comfortable and happy start. If we see any signs of loneliness or discomfort, we will take steps in a supportive manner to improve his/her situation. We have been doing this for 60 years. We know the signs and we know the remedies. Please know that your child, like the thousands of other children who have grown up at Timberlane, all began as young “first time” campers. They have grown up to become wonderful young people, adults and parents like you. To them, camp has been a very special part of their lives.
It has always been and will continue to be our aim and commitment to give the best and most personal care to each camper, in an effort to ensure that camp is fun and is full of memorable experiences, learning opportunities and friendships that last a lifetime. There is a special magic to Timberlane, and we look forward to having your child begin what we hope will become a long and enriching experience. Don’t ever hesitate to call us, so that we can work together to care for your child.
Please remind your camper (and yourself) that camp is a "big fun adventure.” Convey your confidence in the staff at camp to resolve any small issues and encourage your child to trust that Camp Timberlane will be a safe and friendly place for him/her. Camp Timberlane strives to be a place that can help each child create their own “happy wisdom.” As always we look forward to sharing a wonderful summer with you and your family!
