PRESIDENT

successes NVRA has enjoyed in
furthering its mission. A new
Ovoice writers association has
been formed in Ohio. California is knee-
deep in writing legislation, rewriting
regulation, and educating the reporting
community; California’s reporter
association has had several voice writers
present voice writing demonstrations;
reporting schools are expanding their
programs to include voice writing. NVRA is
DON SCOTT in discussion with Illinois’ regulatory body.
CVR-CM-M, RVR, RCP, RBC NVRA’s testing program is well underway

and certifying professionals on a monthly
basis. The convention committee is
planning the 2019 annual convention
program, promising an entertaining and
educational presentation for us all!
As we close 2018 and begin our new year,
we look at our membership, comprised of
representatives of many related

he Verbatim Reporters Association
of Ohio was formed in January
2018 to bring awareness and

method to the state. To begin that mission,
VRAO attended the Ohio Magistrates
two-day annual spring conference where
we provided live demonstrations and
explained to the attendees that, while the
method of taking the record is different
from that of stenographers, the roles and
requirements of the reporters are the
same.
The attendees were very interested in our
demonstrations, and several indicated they
professions. We are truly that melting pot
we often hear described across this
country. Our members are a unique blend
of experiences and abilities. We make a
difference in the reporting community,
whatever our individual method and
particular profession may be. NVRA is
proud to stand at the forefront and carry
the guidon of the membership of this great
organization.
I hope that you will enjoy the upcoming
holidays and the camaraderie of family,
friends, and associates; that you will enjoy
peace, fellowship, and love, in the spirit of
the season; and that you will enjoy
memories, whether they are shared
memories or memories in the making.
Finally, if you are on the road, I hope that
you will enjoy safe travels. May each
journey be part of yet another good
memory.

with many people excited to learn more
about this “new” technology.
