UNIT I
                                 PSYCHOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF EDUCATION

            Some of other characteristics

               • Insight leads to change in perception
               • Insight is sudden
               • The organism tends to perceive a pattern or organization
               • Understanding plays important role in insight learning

               • It is related with higher order animals and not with inferior animals
               • Age influences insight learning. Adults are better learner than children
               • Past experience a perceptual organization is important in perception
               • Some psychologist also relate insight learning with associative learning

            GESTALT LAWS

 It was founded by German thinkers Max Wertheimer, Wolfgang Kholer and Kurt Koffka
 It focused on how people interpret the world.
 Gestalt perspective formed partially as a response to the structuralism of Wilhelm Wundt,
who focused on breaking down mental events and experiences to the smallest elements.
 Gestalt psychologists developed a set of principles to explain perceptual organization or
how smaller objects are grouped to form larger ones.
 This much like heuristics, which are mental shortcut for solving problems.

            DIFFERENT GESTALT LAWS

               1.) Law of Similarity

 Suggests that things tend to appear grouped together. Groupings can occur in both visual
                   and auditory stimuli.
