Today, almost all local bookstores in Malaysia such as MPH Bookstores and Popular Bookstores have websites offering e-commerce book purchases.
Changes that occur due to the development of this technology is seen to bring new challenges and switch the strategic environment of the book publishing industry as a whole. The significant decline in book sales, the impact of the rise of online bookstores such as Amazon and the increase in demand for digital content formats as an alternative to print content; and also the existence of digital printing that allows books to be printed in small quantities according to customer requirements, making the book market more competitive.

There are many printing processes in printing technology such as offset lithography, digital printing, gravure, screen printing, letterpress and other processes. In this article I would like to highlight about the screen-printing process.
Screen printing refers when the image area are porous to let the ink pass, whereas the non image area on the printing plate blocked to prevent ink pass. Screen printing originated from China and originally used to print textiles with the simplest print process. Manual screen printing can be accomplished with only a few simple items such as a sturdy frame, screen fabric, stencils, squeegee, and ink. In conclusion, technological advances, with the advent of the Internet and social media, and advances in computer and digital technology, have indeed changed the structure of the regulatory industry. In this screen printing process, it is a direct printing process by forcing ink through a stencil. The screen printing process uses a porous mesh fabric stretched tightly and mounted on a sturdy frame made of wood or metal. A squeegee is used to press the ink through a stencil on the screen and transfer it directly onto the substrate.
