MEDICAL INSURANCE

        Helpful Tips for Medical Participants

Cigna requests that HMO members use their PCP versus urgent care when possible
If you need urgent care while within the HMO service area, but your illness, injury or condition is not serious enough to be
considered a medical emergency, you should first seek care through your PCP. You should go to an urgent care facility that
is affiliated with your selected PCP’s medical group or IPA. If you are outside of the service area, you must access care from
a participating urgent care. Conditions or services that are non-preventive or non-routine, and needed in order to prevent
the serious deterioration of health following an unforeseen illness, injury or condition are considered urgent care. Preventive
or routine care is not considered urgent and would not be covered.

Use generic and over the counter drugs when available
The best way to save on prescription drugs is to use generic or over the counter medications as opposed to brand name
medications when possible. When you use generic medications, you will pay the lowest copay. Generic drugs must use the
same active ingredients as the brand name version of the drug. A generic drug must also meet the same quality and safety
standards. Always consult your provider to determine the best prescription drug for you.

Use the mail-order prescription drug benefit for maintenance medications
Save time and money by having your maintenance prescription medications sent directly to your home. The Cigna Rx Home
Delivery program allows you to receive a 90-day supply for only 2 copayments. For example, a generic 3 month supply at
the retail pharmacy would cost you $30, but by utilizing Cigna Rx Home Delivery, your prescription would cost you $20.
        That is a 33% savings!

Use the discount prescription drug programs offered at Costco, Wal-Mart, GoodRx and other retailers
You may receive a deeper discount than you would if you used our insurance plans offered through Cigna.

Take advantage of Cigna member discount programs
Included with your Cigna medical plans are extras that will help members save on products and services to promote better
health and well-being such as gym memberships, savings on hearing aids, vision supplies, fitness supplies, and weight loss
        programs / tools.

Use online tools offered by Cigna to manage your health care
Go to www.mycigna.com to compare the estimated average costs for health care services in your area. See how much you
could potentially save by choosing a doctor who participates in Cigna’s network. Also available online is a simple health
assessment survey designed to help you live a healthier life.

Call the 24-Hour Health Information Line if you have a health question
Our Cigna medical plans include a 24-Hour Health Information Line at (800) CIGNA24. The Health Information Line is staffed
with a team of experienced registered nurses who can provide information, support and education for any health-related
question or concern. When you’re sick or injured, it can be difficult to make health care decisions. You may not know if you
should go to an urgent care center, make an appointment with your doctor or simply use self-care. With Cigna’s Health
Information Line, answers to your health questions are just a phone call away.

Use Telehealth phone or video consultations
Cigna Telehealth is a national network of board-certified physicians who provide quality health care to members through the
convenience of phone or online video consultations. Cigna Telehealth physicians can diagnose, treat and write prescriptions
for routine medical conditions. If you are enrolled on the HMO or PPO plan, your member cost share is the same as a physical
office visit and your member coinsurance or deductible will be applied. If you are an HSA PPO participant, you will pay $40
that will be applied to the deductible, and once satisfied, you will pay the coinsurance amount.

                                                                                                              Page 11
