This began almost three decades of
interior landscape work throughout
Canada and the United States and
the opening of company offices in
many major centers. Here are some
of the installation highlights:
The John Hancock tower in Boston
The Minneapolis zoo in Minnesota
One Denver Place in Denver
The Bank of Canada and Rideau
Centre and the majority of all
government buildings in the Ottawa/
Hull metropolitan area.
After leaving high school, Bruce went
to work for a trucking company in
western Ontario, loving being on the
open road. But ultimately, he came
back to the family business – Eric
Jensen Greenhouses Limited – as
a trucker between Ontario and the
nursery facility Eric had built in Apopka,
Florida in 1954.
Eric and two pals had decided it would
be much more advantageous to grow
plants in a warmer climate and then
ship them to Ontario for finishing and
selling. Each of these three ex-Danes
built their own nurseries and each went
on their merry way.
It was while Bruce’s job was driving
the Florida truck that he met Barbara
in Muskoka, Ontario in 1963 and they
were married in February, 1965 – almost
Three days after their wedding,
Bruce began his first two big projects
installing planting at the new Yorkdale
Shopping Centre in Toronto and the
Toronto Pearson international airport.
